Ruminagem @ Festival PAN, Poetry and Arts in Rural countryside, Morille (Salamanca), Spain

One more presentation for Ruminagem, this time in Spain, Morille, a small village near Salamanca, integrated in the Festival PAN, “Encuentro y Festival de Poesía y de las Artes en Medio Rural”.  The Festival consisted of 3 days celebration of poetry, arts and music, envolving the Morille population and artists from Portugal, Spain and France. The village landscape has several signs of other editions with public sculptures, a unique Art Graveyard, where sculptures and other art objects are burried, installations, performance events, photographic exhibitions, poetry recitals, books and music in every corner. The presentation/concert went very well, people of every age applaud, and tested the pieces in a very relaxed environment, asked questions about them, etc. One nice point, the national spanish television (TVE) was filming the event (and the festival). We enjoyed so much, and have to thank a few people: Miguel Rainha, for supporting and help the project to reach this goal, and “driving” in such a hot conditions, once more for Telma, our “godmother”, to Radovan, a incredible supporter of the project (that helped in the 2 last presentations), also Alegria for setting everything and no-stop energy, a big kiss, the directors of the Festival, the people and the Alcaide of Morille, for the nice welcome, food and hospitality. Encuentro y Festival de Poesía y de las Artes en el Medio Rural, 2011

On the 9 of July Ruminagem will be active again, this time in a Poetry and Art Festival called PAN, in the vila of Morille, near Salamanca, Spain. PAN stands for  “Encuentro y Festival de Poesía y de las Artes en el Medio Rural”, or Festival for Poetry and Arts in Rural Countryside.

Ruminagem @ TMG – Guarda – 12 May

12 of May, the second day, a bit of sightseeing around Guarda in the morning, the 600 years old Sé, and in the afternoon final preparations, video for the “armário” piece. The concert started at 21h35 with a very good crowd, very restrained performance with lots of electronic manipulation. The public liked it, and went on to check the “pieces” after the ending, that will remain in the TMG Educative service until the 28 of May, for guided tours with infants and small worshops.

Ruminagem @ TMG – Guarda

10 of May. First day at Teatro Municipal da Guarda, assembling the pieces, testings audio and ligth, everything went really quickly with the help of TMG crew. We have  the “Armário” piece back, for the first time since the Moagem presentation, the other two are already known, the “Megacone” and the “Totem”. We had the visit of Miguel Rainha and Telma from Moagem, the godfathers of the project. Tomorrow a few more tests and at 21h30 the presentation. The pieces will stay for more 2 weeks in the care of Vitor Afonso, director of the educative service, for workshops with school kids.

Ruminagem @ IFP – Imagens Projectadas#2 – 27 November 2009

Ruminagem @ Institute Franco-Portugais, Festival “Imagens Projectadas#2” 26 and 27 November – 2009, organized by Granular. Setting up the 2 pieces and testing audio, video and lighting.

The Concert/Performance went very well,  restrained music and manipulation of the pieces, the best of the 3 presentations so far, the video was dimmed on top of us and the pieces, giving a mysterious aura to the set.

RUMINAGEM @ Estúdio PerFormas – Aveiro (26/09)

Sexta e Sábado

Após um hiato de 2 semanas, eis que o projecto Ruminagem volta a apresentar ao vivo as esculturas sonoras criadas na residência artistica na Moagem (Fundão), mas desta feita em  Aveiro, no Estúdio PerFormas, no dia 26 de Setembro, pelas 22:00 horas. Devido ao tamanho das 4 peças originais que apresentavam dificuldades de transporte, a opção para esta performance foram o anteriormente referido “Totem”, dada a sua natureza modular e o icónico “Megacone”.  Após a sua chegada a Aveiro os 3 ruminadores prepararam ainda na noite de sexta, a disposição das peças em palco (uma situação de auditório), colocação e sequenciação das luzes e ligação de cablagem audio (prescindindo com grande sucesso de microfones em favor de elementos piezo-eléctricos). Iniciaram o sábado com testes de audio e video, encontrando situações deveras interessantes com a projecção feita ora sobre as peças ora sobre o negro da sala, criando assim um jogo de espelhos e  sombras, com a hábil manipulação por João Silva do projector, computador e camera DV. O espectáculo com uma maior componente musical decorreu com grande precisão na utilização dos materiais em palco, os sons produzidos pela manipulação fisica e digital dos 3 ruminadores trouxe uma dinamica nova e mais concentrada no discurso musical e sonoro apoioada na sua dimensão visual. Sem dúvida um amadurecimento dos pressupostos iniciais com excelentes resultados confirmados pela audiência embora em pequeno número. Aguarda-se com grande ansiedade o terceiro espectáculo, a estreia na capital, Lisboa, no Instituto Franco-Português, dia 27 de Novembro, inserido no Ciclo Granular “Imagens Projectadas” Desde  já um grande abraço e um obrigado pelo acolhimento, paciência e energia do João, Pedro e Filipe do Estúdio PerFormas, que possibilitaram este evento, um beijinho muito especial para a Telma que percorreu os perto de 200 kilómetros do Fundão até Aveiro para ver esta nova metamorfose do ruminagem, e a todo o público presente.

DAY 7 (back home with fulfilled mission)

O regresso a casa, abandonar as peças (sendo que duas delas serão novamente utilizadas em concerto no dia 26 em Aveiro no Estudio PerFormas), voltar a empacotar tudo com o cansaço acumulado, mas com o prazer de missão cumprida. Antes de mais, toda a equipa Ruminante agradece do fundo do coração todo o esforço e energia dispendido (mesmo o desespero que por vezes foi inevitável, obrigado Telma :-))) pela equipa da Moagem, e passo a nomear todas as pessoas envolvidas, Um Grande Obrigado: ao Miguel Rainha pela oportunidade que nos foi dada e por acreditar no projecto e torná-lo possivel, à Telma pela energia em organizar, conduzir,  levar, esperar, carregar, chorar, verificar… um excelente trabalho de P&R, à Marta pela organização, energia, conversas e chocolates :-), ao Alberto e ao Lucas por nos ajudarem a tornar mais concreto o projecto em termos de iluminação e audio (… e a carregar as peças!!!), ao Rui Sena e à Celina (Quarta Parede) que criaram com a Moagem pontes de entendimento e espaço de diálogo para o projecto acontecer, à Ana, à Celeste, a todo o pessoal do restaurante As Tílias, que nos manteve sempre activos (e com força) através das excepcionais refeições, à Granular (os curadores Carlos Zíngaro e Rui eduardo Paes) que potenciou/criou o projecto e seleccionou a equipa, à Maria João e Emidio Buchinho… a todos os leitores deste blog e público que presenciou o concerto de sábado… enfim a todos os que de alguma forma participaram no projecto. OBRIGADO.

Back home with a felling of fulfilled mission (two of the sculptures will be presented in concert in Aveiro, on 26 September, at Studio PerFormas). Pack everything, tired but happy. First of all the Ruminantes have to ask a Very Big Thank You from the bottom of our hearts to all Moagem crew:  Miguel Rainha to believe in the project gave it a go and made it possible, to Telma for the energy, organizing, taking, waiting, crying, verifying… excelent P&R work, to Marta for organizing, talking and chocolats to Alberto and Lucas for their partnership in carrying the debris, lights and cabling, to Rui Sena and Celina (Quarta Parede) in creating a space for talk and understanding with Moagem, to Ana and Celeste, to everyone at As Tílias restaurant, with its wonderful meals, to Granular (Carlos Zíngaro and Rui eduardo Paes curators) that imaged the project and built the team, to Maria João and Emidio Buchinho… to all the readers and public that attended the concert on saturday… well, to all the people involved somehow in the project.
